Our Philosophy
What most people know is that Brazil’s macro-economic indicators are pointing in the right direction. What most people don’t know, and what we know as Entrepreneurs, is that it is extremely hard to launch a business in Brazil due to:
- the excruciating amount of bureaucracy
- the small and inexperienced, yet growing and enthusiastic start-up community
- difficulty of raising seed funding
- hassle of accessing a network of efficient and good value human resources
What we know as investors is that there is far too much growth funding chasing far too few high-growth opportunities.
For these reasons we consciously decided to take a “hands-on” approach as well as “going in early”. We work with highly motivated Entrepreneurs and founding teams, and take an extremely hands-on approach working side by side with our teams. We usually take a considerable equity stake in our portfolio companies yet always leave the founders and entrepreneurs a large share of the company because we don’t believe in the employee – owner model: We believe in building successful businesses together!
